Your Questions, Answered

What areas do you serve?
We serve all of Palm Beach County (including West Palm Beach, Jupiter, Palm Beach Gardens, Lake Worth, Boynton Beach, Boca Raton, Delray Beach, Wellington, and Belle Glade), Broward County (Fort Lauderdale, Deerfield Beach, Pompano Beach), and the Treasure Coast (Port St. Lucie, Stuart, Fort Pierce). We also respond to I-95 and Florida Turnpike calls throughout these areas.
Are you really available 24/7?
Yes — 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. When you call 561-475-8052, a real person answers. Not an answering service, not a voicemail. We respond to emergency calls at 2 AM on Christmas Day just like we do at 2 PM on a Tuesday.
How fast can you get to me?
Within Palm Beach County, our typical response time is 60-90 minutes from when you call. Response times to Broward County and the Treasure Coast vary from 60-120 minutes depending on location. In an emergency, we prioritize based on safety — a truck on the shoulder of I-95 gets expedited over a truck safely parked in a lot.
What types of trucks do you work on?
We work on all major Class 6-8 commercial trucks and trailers: Freightliner (Cascadia, M2, Columbia), Kenworth (T680, T880, W900), Peterbilt (579, 389, 567), Volvo (VNL, VNR), International (LT, LoneStar), Mack (Anthem, Pinnacle), and Western Star. Engine platforms include Detroit DD13/DD15/DD16, Cummins ISX/X15/ISB/ISL, PACCAR MX-13/MX-11, and more.
What repairs can you do on-site vs. what needs a shop?
About 75-80% of common truck repairs can be done on-site. This includes batteries, starters, alternators, brake chambers, slack adjusters, brake shoes, air lines, coolant hoses, water pumps, thermostats, DEF sensors, DPF regens, turbo actuators, belts, tires, and much more. Repairs that typically need a shop include major engine internal work (in-frame overhauls), transmission rebuilds, DPF bake-out cleaning, and work requiring an alignment rack or hoist.
How much does a mobile repair cost?
It depends on the repair, but here are typical ranges: Service call fee is $100-$250 depending on location. Labor is $125-$150/hour during standard hours, $150-$200/hour after hours. Common repairs: battery replacement $400-$700, starter replacement $500-$900, brake chamber $200-$400, PM A service $425-$900. We always give you a price estimate before starting work — no surprises.
Do I need a tow truck, or should I call you first?
Call us first — almost always. A heavy-duty tow on I-95 costs $1,500-$5,000. Most roadside breakdowns can be fixed on-site for a fraction of that. We'll tell you honestly on the phone whether your truck needs a tow or whether we can fix it where it sits. We don't make money from tows, so our recommendation is always in your best interest.
Do you do preventive maintenance?
Yes, and it's one of our most valuable services. We come to your yard or parking location on a scheduled basis and perform PM A, PM B, and PM C services on your trucks without them ever leaving your lot. No lost revenue days, no tow to a shop, no waiting for a bay. We recommend shortened PM intervals for Florida trucks due to the heat and humidity.
Can you do DOT inspections?
Yes, we provide DOT inspection preparation and annual inspections at your location. We go through every item on the Federal inspection checklist, fix what needs fixing on-site, and certify your truck. Proactive DOT inspection prep is much cheaper than failing a roadside inspection, which can result in out-of-service violations, fines, and CSA points.
Do you work on trailers too?
Absolutely. We repair trailer brakes, air lines, lighting, glad hands, landing gear, suspensions, and more. Dry vans, flatbeds, reefer trailers, tankers, and lowboys — we handle them all. Trailer brake and lighting issues are some of the most common DOT violations, and we fix them on-site.
What if you can't fix it on the road?
We'll tell you straight. If a repair is beyond what can be done safely and effectively on-site, we'll let you know and help you figure out the best next step — whether that's a tow to a specific shop we trust or a plan to get the truck to a facility. We never waste your time or money attempting a repair that needs proper shop equipment.
Do you offer fleet service contracts?
Yes. For fleets of 5+ trucks in the Palm Beach County area, we offer dedicated service programs with priority scheduling, consistent pricing, and detailed maintenance tracking. Fleet customers get priority response on emergency calls and scheduled PM visits that work around your operation. Call 561-475-8052 to discuss a fleet program.
Are you insured?
Yes. Albert's Road Service LLC carries full liability insurance and garage keeper's insurance. We're a legitimate, licensed, and insured business. Your truck is protected while in our care.
Can you handle aftertreatment/DEF/DPF problems?
This is one of our specialties. Aftertreatment derates are the #1 call we get. We diagnose and repair DEF quality sensors, DEF dosing units, NOx sensors, DEF pumps, and perform forced DPF regenerations on-site. If your Cascadia, Kenworth, or Volvo is in derate mode, call us before it gets worse — we can often resolve it roadside.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept cash, all major credit cards, debit cards, fleet checks, and Comchek/T-Chek/EFS. For fleet customers with established accounts, we offer net-30 invoicing. We provide detailed invoices for every service call.
How do I schedule a preventive maintenance visit?
Call us at 561-475-8052 or reach out through our contact page. Tell us how many trucks you have, where they're parked, and when works best for your schedule. We'll set up a PM program customized to your fleet's needs and your operation's hours.
